Introduzione: le labbra hanno un ruolo centrale nel viso, tuttavia le proporzioni che le rendono attrattive sono ancora poco definite. Una definizione numerica, con una nuova classificazione delle labbra, potrebbe aiutare il medico a scegliere il trattamento terapeutico ideale per il ripristino delle giuste proporzioni e ottenere, così, delle labbra “perfette”.
Obiettivo: l’obiettivo di questo studio è quello di analizzare i parametri che rendono le labbra attraenti, sviluppare delle linee guida per effettuare un reshaping equilibrato delle labbra per ottenere risultati perfettamente naturali.
Materiali e Metodi: in questo studio sono stati analizzati quattro parametri delle labbra: altezza del filtro, altezza del vermiglio superiore, rapporto tra filtro e vermiglio superiore, proporzione aurea tra vermiglio superiore ed inferiore. In base a questi parametri è stato ideato un nuovo sistema di classificazione per le labbra per aiutare a scegliere il miglior approccio terapeutico. In questo studio sono stati utilizzati dei filler a base di acido ialuronico con specifiche caratteristiche reologiche iniettati grazie all’ausilio di un device elettronico. Inoltre, sono state effettuate delle fotografie prima e dopo il trattamento.
Risultati: l’autore analizza i quattro parametri che hanno condotto alla definizione numerica delle labbra. Inoltre, presenta la nuova classificazione mostrando i risultati ottenuti da questo nuovo approccio di trattamento.
Conclusione: non esiste un’unica soluzione per delle labbra “perfette”. Il trattamento deve essere personalizzato e adattato alle esigenze di ogni singolo paziente. Per questo motivo la nuova classificazione, basata sulla definizione numerica delle labbra, potrebbe aiutare a scegliere il trattamento ideale per ogni tipo di paziente nel rispetto delle proporzioni per ottenere delle labbra “perfette”.
A new classification for the “perfect” lips
Introduction: lips plays a central role in the face, but the aesthetic proportions and their effect on facial attractiveness are still poorly defined. A numerical definition, with a new lips classification, could help the doctor to choose the ideal therapeutic treatment to achieve the ideal proportion and thus obtaining the “perfect” lips.
Objective: the aim of this study is to analyze the parameters that make lips attractive and developing specific guidelines for a balanced lip enhancement to achieve a perfect natural look.
Method: in this study four lips specific parameters were evaluated: philtrum height, upper vermillion height, ratio between philtrum and upper vermillion height, golden ratio between upper and lower vermillion height. Based on these parameters a new lip classification system was designed to help the choice for the best therapeutic approach. Here, hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers with specific rheological properties were used with an electronic device to help the injection. Furthermore, photographs of the patients were performed before and after treatment.
Results: the author analyses the four parameters that carried out to a numeric definition of the lips. Moreover, he presents the new lip classification showing the results obtained from this new treatment approach.
Conclusion: there is no single solution for the “perfect” lips. The treatment should be personalized and adapted to each patient needs. For this reason, the new classification, based on the numerical definition of the lips, could help to choose the ideal treatment for each patient respecting the proportions to obtain “perfect” lips.
